About Yoyaa Buna

Yoyaa Buna was created from a deep love for coffee, culture, and connection.

In Ethiopia, coffee is more than a drink — it is a tradition, a gathering, and a moment of togetherness. It is shared in homes, among family, and with neighbors. Growing up with this culture, coffee was always part of our everyday life and our identity.

What does Yoyaa Buna mean?

"Yoyaa" is a morning greeting in Guji, meaning good morning or the start of a new day. "Buna" mean coffee. Together, Yoyaa Buna represents morning coffee - a warm cup shared to being the day with care, tradition, and connection.

When we moved to the United States, we carried that tradition with us. We saw how Ethiopian coffee was loved around the world, yet the stories behind it — the people, the land, and the culture — were often missing. Yoyaa Buna was born to help tell those stories.

Our coffee is single-origin from Ethiopia, sourced with care and respect for its roots. From the highlands where coffee was first discovered to the cup you enjoy today, every step reflects quality, tradition, and intention.

We are a family-driven brand built on values of authenticity, community, and respect for origin. Every bag of Yoyaa Buna represents the farmers, the heritage, and the journey behind the coffee.

We invite you to slow down, share a cup, and experience Ethiopian coffee the way it was meant to be — with heart, meaning, and connection.

Coffee in Ethiopia is more than a beverage—it is a way of life.

From early mornings in the highlands to beans drying under the sun, coffee brings people together in moments of care, conversation, and community. Every step of the journey is guided by tradition and respect for the land.

Yoyaa Buna represents the warmth of a new day—shared through a cup of coffee rooted in culture, connection, and intention.

From the Highlands of Guji, Ethiopia

Our coffee comes from the Guji region of Ethiopia, an area known for high elevations, rich soil, and exceptional specialty coffee. Grown at around 1,800–2,200 meters above sea level, Guji coffee is loved for its floral aroma, fruit-forward flavor, and smooth sweetness.
